Truman Soccer Team Takes Championship  2009!

Picture
the Truman college team won their first Indoor League Division A Chi Town Futbol Championship, defeating the Chicago FC 5-2 at the Chi Town Sports Facility located at Throop St. and Cermak Rd. in the south side of Chicago. The Chi Town league was sponsored by La Raza , a Spanish language newspaper. The league finished the season with nine wins, most of which were in this league. Captain Robert Bitoto and leading goal scorer Mathias Enock and Emmanuel Ogunremi breezed the semis and made quick work of the Chicago FC in the title game. Coach Ngugi had stressed a family attitude with this team, which he attributes to the success of the program. "We are like a big international family. When someone needs help with their studies or finding a job we all band together and prop each other up. I think that attitude translated onto the floor, and we won because of it." Ngugi says .
