Date: 04/11/08 09:11 pm Subject: Saturday practice Attachments: Hello guys,
Thank you to those who came today. You guys had fun. There are still a few of you who have not made the two days. I expected you today, and you did not show up, but you still have tomorrow.
Tomorrow's workout would be just easy and for conditioning purposes. The InterClub will come tomorrow, Saturday, April 12, 2008, but it would not be a hard game. I would like everybody to relax on Saturday because Sunday, April 13, 2008 will be a very tough busy day.
The transport for Sunday is confirmed. The bus departs from Truman College at exactly 2:00 pm. The players should be at the students' lounge by 1:00 pm to get their playing kits and equipment. As usual, first come first served. The Gatorade seems to be working miracles on your energy, and it will be readily available. On Sunday we would also like to take some on-the- pitch action photos to be posted in the soccer Website. This will be a weekend we might not forget for a long time, as such we want some "recorded memory", both in print and "movie".
Just a reminder that we will watch the quarter-final game between "WFAI" and "LFC" at 4:00 pm in Field # 3. You never know we might meet one of these teams in the finals. Then we will also watch the first semi-final at 4:45 pm between "Las Americas", and the winner of the quater-final, stiil at Field # 3. We then play our semi-final @ 5:30 pm in the same field, and the final at 6:15 pm. We only have a 5 (five)- minutes break.
Thank you all for the support you have given to the Truman Soccer team throughout the semester.
Good luck on Sunday, and bring the Champion's Trophy home.

Announcement
Hello everybody,
Just to let you know that Friday, March 28, 2008 practice starts at 2: 30 pm. Those who have missed at least a day of training will have to make up tomorrow, otherwise no fielding on Sunday.
A reminder that the game on Sunday (March 30, 2008) will be at 4:00 pm. We are playing the league leaders, The Midnight Riders. We meet as usual at Truman College student's lounge at 1:00 pm for uniform - 'first come first served", of course Gatorade, and the signing of the waiver forms. the bus leaves at exactly 2:00 pm. If you will be playing on Sunday, you have to put your name on the team roster for Sunday, otherwise I will not be considering you in the line up.
A few of you have to be very careful about yellow cards. We will most likely get the ref who dished some yellow cards to us a few weeks ago. Remember - no sliding, no complaining to the ref, no tackles from behind, and goalies watch for back passes. Otherwise play a cool game - do not hold onto the ball unnecessarily long, and check positions of the your team mates and pass the ball accurately. Use the walls and take the rebounds first time. It should be a reflex action - no time to think at the goal area - take fast hard shots. Also use the walls to pass the ball to your team mates. Good luck - come Sunday!!!
Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 10:00 am, we will still have our usual scrimmage, but should be taken lightly because I do not anybody to get hurt before Sunday.
If you have not taken the portrait photograph for the Website, please let me know.
Thank you, on behalf of the Student Activities Department, to the big soccer group that turned up for the Ballet Show today at Novar hall @ 2: 00 pm!!
See you tomorrow, Friday, March 28, 2008, at 2:30 pm in the GYM, but I will be in the office (room 1625) in the morning, if you want to see me before practice.
Take care.

Date: 03/03/08 10:42 pm Subject: Wednesday Session on. Hellos,
Thanks to all of you who turned up to watch the video, and practice game today!!! Next training sessions is on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at 2:30 pm.
The practice today was superb with classic goals from Enrique, Marko, Josiah, Samuel Oyetola and Addo. Generally the session was great with great passes. Erik played his heart out to try and save his team.
The stairs total today was 30, and you guys could still stand!!!! Those guys who are hiding so that they do not take to the stairs are in trouble, because your number of stairs will be cummulative. Each day you miss training, you will have an arreas of between 20 - 30 stairs. You miss a whole week, you will have 80 -120 stairs to do, before you can be considered to play in the league on Sunday. Some players are taking advantage of others by being considered to play on Sunday league, while they only trained for one day or none at all. This is going to stop, it does not matter whether we are going to loose games, but we are going to field players who are committed to the training sessions.
Players, from today, as per today's discussions, are playing positions during practice sessions that they will play on Sunday games. Nobody will switch positions, at all costs. On Friday afternoon, we will print out positions that people will play on Sunday. If your name is not on the positions list, latest by Friday, you can stay home for the weekend because you will not play on Sunday, nor ride on the bus, it does not matter "who" it is.
This week everybody has to put in some tremendous hours of workouts because next week (March 10 -15) we will only train for two days because of Open House. The week after will be spring break (17-22), and we will not practice for a whole week. This is not very good, especially since it is happening in the middle of our Indoor League competition. It is your responsibilty to stay physically fit with your own private workouts - jogging, GYM, weights etc. during these breaks.
Next game, on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 4:00 pm, we are playing LFC at Chicago Indoor Sports at 3900 South Ashland Avenue. Check the league standings and the schedule that I have attached with this e-mail.
You are again reminded that, if you did not take the medical physicals, you are not covered by the insurance. If you did not, please see me.
College IDs are important during this competition: if I did not take a copy of your spring semester ID, please bring your ID with you on Wednesday.
See you Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 2:30 pm.
Take care.

Date: 03/03/08 09:45 am Subject: Baptism of fire!!! Hello Guys!!!
It is called the "baptism of fire". Our very first experience of the "pain" of losing in last two semesters. It was so excruciating, I could see it in your faces, but it was not that bad. Losing 3 to 2 to the best team in the league was not that bad. You guys played a good game, and I am convinced that we can beat this team in the "play offs", so do not lose heart. Imagine what others feel when you hit them with double digits numbers.
Do not forget also that some of the players who contributed to our win last time were committed this weekend and could not come. This included Ibrahim, Emmanuel (Toby), and Mathias. Again we got too many "2-minute warnings". This contributed to playing 8 minutes of understrength with a very experienced team that has played indoor league for many years. It also emphasized the importance of physical fitness - you will be assured of many more stairs.
We were also alittle over-confident after winning the first game, but I believe we are "the team to beat", and we are going to prove it next Sunday. Good luck and tought training this week.
We are going to view the video of the Sunday game, Monday, March 3, 2008 at 1:00 pm in the students lounge. The scrimmage game, and the warm-ups were also taped and we will watch all of it.
During practice games everyone will play his position.
Practice as usual this week, starting at 2:30 pm.
Take care.

Announcement
Hello guys,
Tomorrow, Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 10:00 am, we will have a light training game against the International club.
Attached are some of the photos we took last Sunday. We will take more this Sunday.
Today's was a fantastic Friday. Beautiful passing games. Kaffy seems not only to have improved on his GPA which has hit 3.67, but has improved his game tremendously. He scored some very "telling" goals today. Addo scored a fabulous header. Ibrahim had his complicated moves today, and also scored fantastic goals. Marko and Ikenna also scored some good goals. The two goalies Enrique and Erick made some classic saves. This is the spirit I want to see on Sunday.
Sunday, March 2, 2008, we will assemble at the student's lounge, Truman College, at 1:00 pm. We will give you the uniform and your Gatorade, sign up some waiver forms, allocate positions, and take some photos. The bus leaves at exactly 2:00 pm.
You guys should view the Website, it has some new photos and something on Y-Tube.
If I did not take a copy of your ID, please come with your ID tomorrow.
See you tomorrow.

Subject: Friday, Feb.29.2008 practice is on!!!
Hello Guys!!!
Just to remind you that, tomorrow, Friday, February 29, 2008, we have a training session as usual at 2:30 pm.
Today's games and goals were classic. Rasheed's team was outstanding as he continues to "run rings" around some players. Some of you are starting to appear physically fit. I think the 20 stairs are working miracles.
If you have not signed for the Sunday, March 2, 2008 game, you better do so. The reporting time is 1:00 pm, and bus departs at exactly 2:00 pm. The game starts at 4:45 pm, and we need to be there 50 minutes before the game starts for a warm up session. Those who do not warm up completely will not play. The uniform will be given on "first come first served" basis. It does not necessarily mean you will get the same number you had last time, especially if you come late, because some players who did not come last Sunday are available this coming Sunday.
As I said yesterday, the uniform was cleaned up, and is ready, the video camera is ready, still camera is ready, the gatorade is already now, and it is my conviction that you guys are always ready. I want another demolition of the opponents on Sunday.
Saturday, we will still have our usual scrimmage with the International Club, but it will be light. I do not want anybody to get hurt before the league game, so take it easy on Saturday.
I did not see any candidate today for the 1-mile fitness test, and I am still waiting. I will be checking the records of 1-mile test, and if I do not find your name, you will be removed from the Indoor league games' list.
By the way, I bought the official scrabble players dictionary. Those who have been wanting to challenge the captain, and Rasheed; this is your time now!!!
See you guys tomorrow at 2:30 pm.
